Khomas to hold netball trials for newspaper cup

The Khomas Netball Region will hold trials on Saturday to select an Under-20 Khomas team for the upcoming annual The Namibian Newspaper Cup slated for Mariental from 19 to 22 April.
A statement availed to Nampa on Tuesday urged players born on or before 31 December 2000 to be part of the trials to be held at the Wanderers netball courts from 09h00 to 11h00 on Saturday.
“Netball players in the Khomas Region are invited to participate in the trials to compete for a place in the Khomas Regional Netball team that will compete in the newspaper cup in Mariental, Hardap Region, as well as for the Namibia National Youth Games, which date is yet to be announced,” it said.
All qualifying players should take along certified copies of their full birth certificate, identity document or passport plus two colour passport photos.
The 19th edition of The Namibian Newspaper Cup was launched in Windhoek on Thursday, with the organisers promising a bigger and better event.
The draw for the cup is as follows:
 Group A: Oshikoto, //Kharas, Kavango East and Zambezi
Group B: Kavango West, Kunene, Omaheke and Hardap
Group C: Otjozondjupa, Ohangwena and Erongo
Group D: Khomas, Oshana and Omusati - NAMPA
