Top Score 7- A- Side Tournament kicks off in Windhoek

This week, Top Score, the leading maize meal brand of Namib Mills kicked off its 7-A-Side Windhoek leg of the tournament at the Ramblers Soccer Stadium.
This will be the nineteenth year that Top Score will be hosting the 7-A-Side Tournament.
The event is Namibia’s oldest and largest social sports soccer tournament:  It’s aimed to provide community upliftment and engagement, and it is Namib Mill’s way of rewarding those dedicated and disciplined sportsmen who continue to show spirit and persistence in their support for the Top Score 7-A-Side soccer tournament.
Soccer teams in attendance at the launch showed a lot of excitement and team spirit; it was clear that the teams were ready to bring their A – game and showcase their speed, strength, and skill in an attempt to be crowned as the Top Score 7-A-Side Tournament winners.
This year a total of 77 teams entered the Top Score 7-A-Side Tournament in Windhoek.
The total investment of this Windhoek tournament is valued at two hundred and fifty thousand Namibian dollars (N$250 000). The tournament includes a floating trophy; gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three winning teams.
Prize money includes sixteen thousand Namibian dollars (N$16 000) for the winning team, eight thousand Namibian dollars (N$8 000) for the second runner up; six thousand five hundred Namibian dollars (N$6 500) for third place and two thousand five hundred Namibian dollars (N$ 2 500) for fourth place.

 “A trophy carries dust but memories last forever so we want to encourage each and every team to not only give their best in the tournament that lies ahead, but also to enjoy this opportunity to be in the company of fellow soccer sports lovers who continue to show support; dedication and passion towards the game and the Top Score 7-A-Side tournament.”
Fans and supporters are encouraged to bring their camping chairs and come and support their favourite teams as they compete for this prestigious title. Entrance is free and the games will take place every weekend, Friday from 18h00 till late and Saturday’s from 14h00 till late.
