Windhoek to host Inter-telecom games

Telecom Namibia will next month host the 30th edition of the Southern Africa inter-telecom games, the company announced this week. Teams from leading telecommunications companies in Southern Africa will come face-to-face in what is known as the BOLESWANASA Games.

The two-day event will be held at Academia High School Sports Grounds in Windhoek. There will also be fun activities for both adults and children.

The games will start on Saturday, 15 April and end on Sunday, 16 April.

The teams that have confirmed participation include, Telecom Namibia, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation, Econet-Lesotho Telecom, Swazi Post and Telecommunications Corporation and Telkom SA.

Several sport codes including football, volleyball, netball, tug of war, pool, darts and athletics, will form part of the games, aimed at bringing together professionals from the telecoms sector to challenge each other in sports.

“Sports contribute towards development of healthy societies and Telecom Namibia remains at the forefront in organising various sports events for its employees every year,” said Oiva Angula, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at Telecom Namibia in a statement.

He said Telecom Namibia is working hard to provide an amazing experience for the visiting teams.
