17 March 2017
Bank Windhoek this week announced the appointment of Stephanie Viljoen as its Executive Officer: Human Resources, with effect from 1 March.
Viljoen, a Namibian by birth, joins Bank Windhoek after 19 years at Barclays Africa, where she worked as a human resources executive.
Viljoen obtained a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology, and started working at Absa, now Barclays, as a graduate. During her career she’s had multiple roles in human resources at Barclays, the last of which was Head of Human Resources for Africa Technology.
Viljoen’s Barclays role included leading the HR function across 12 African countries, as well as India and United Kingdom, with a client base of 5,000.
She also led both the transformational and strategic aspects of HR, across the various disciplines.
“The bank is on a very exciting trajectory and I am privileged to be part of the journey.  I am excited to join a business team, as well as an HR team, that strives to be impactful and to make a difference. Passion and energy is definitely not lacking in the team, and together we can create magic,” said Viljoen.
Like any true HR Professional, Viljoen believes that employees are the heartbeat of a successful organisation. - Staff Writer
