The Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino (WCCR) have announced a Beatz and Eatz music festival which will take place at the resort on 25 May, Africa Day, a national holiday.
This announcement was made by the resorts general manager, Tony Boucher earlier this week during a press briefing.
Boucher expressed delight with the upcoming event saying: “WCCR has produced its fair share of exciting happenings, ranging from international golf tournaments to Miss Universe and Miss Namibia pageants and boxing bonanzas. Now we are offering another great opportunity to enjoy acoustic and laid-back music by well-known South African musicians.”
Musicians scheduled to entertain the crowd include Almero Welgemoed, Deon Meiring and Bouwer Bosch. “This time around we only have international performing acts. In the future we will also bring locals. We have noticed that South African music is doing very well here in Namibia and we also would like to give those who like this music an opportunity to hear and see these artists performing live,” Boucher explained.
Boucher said the event will take place outdoors. “Most of our events held are indoors. We know that Namibia has a beautiful open sky with many stars. We wanted to showcase this,” he said.
Those coming to the festival are welcome to bring their blankets along. “We will also cater for the food enthusiasts and a variety of food and drink stands will be available from 15h00 onwards,’ he said.
Boucher said the WCCR will offer a special accommodation package for the music festival weekend. “It will only cost N$1,840 per night for a double room, including breakfast,” he said.
The Early Bird tickets for the festival will be available from 24 April 2018 at www.webtickets.com.na. For more information, contact 061 205 5748/51.
