What’s hot and what’s not?

19 October 2018
Each week, the Windhoek Observer’s Entertainment crew takes an insightful, yet amusing look at the entertainment industry, lifestyle and fashion happenings in Windhoek, and judges whether they are hot or not.
This week we look at some of the outfits worn to recent events.
Not hot in tight clothes
Why on earth would you decide to squeeze a nice body that is as HOT as yours into that horrific outfit? The shirt is too small; we struggle to imagine how you were breathing in it. In the fashion game, it is dope to knob the collar button ONLY when wearing a tie. Your invisible tie looked odd! Now to come to those horrible wannabe pants; they are ‘don’t touch my ankles’. This is a huge fashion ‘no’ that we all grew up with.  Wearing a ‘don’t touch my ankles pants’ to school would bring ridicule and teasing and that is still the case now.  We don’t even want to comment on those bright coloured socks and unpleasant looking shoes.  You can do better next time.
Hot in bike shorts
Bike shorts with a designer ‘fanny pack’ are the latest fashion trend, and they have been popping up everywhere. We really like this all-black outfit even though summertime calls for bright colours. And wow we love that Gucci waist bag. We like casual, cool, uncomplicated fashion choices.  Your outfit is trendy, it suits your body shape and you certainly look hot!
Hot in jumpsuits
We are pleased to see that you both love jumpsuits; we are also huge fans of them. Jumpsuits are now trendy in Namibia (and on world fashion runways) and they seem to be here to stay for a while.  Jumpsuits are bright and bold; they give the sense of leisure in fashion.  It is all-in-one dressing; it is easy and fun.  For those wishing to try out a jumpsuit this summer, take care to choose fabrics, colours and prints that suit your body shape.  Large or small, tall or short, round hips, thunder thighs, or flat chests…there are jumpsuits that can work well for you.  They can range in prices – so watch your budget.  Try them on in the store and be certain you can sit down comfortably in them.  Think about when you have to go to the toilet and consider how that will happen while wearing a jumpsuit.  Still…you should try one; you just might like it.

Robyn Nakaambo hot in flower two piece
If there is one trend that has surely taken over this summer it is the floral print. We really love this rose two-piece outfit on you – you look great.  We give you a huge hand clap for wearing something that beautifully complements your body shape. We love the bubble ponytail hair do.  A few months ago, we  offered our readers a few tips on how to make them. We are pleased to see that you are also a fan of them too.
