Each week, the Windhoek Observer’s Entertainment Reporter, Rinelda Mouton, takes an insightful, yet amusing look at the entertainment industry,
lifestyle and fashion happenings in Windhoek, and judges whether they are hot or not.
This week we look at some of the outfits worn by Namibians to recent events.

Not hot in fringe curtain outfit
What is that you were wearing? Honestly speaking, we have not seen such an awful looking thing in a long time. Fashionable outfits with fringe have dominated many runways these days, but you missed the meeting!  What you are wearing isn’t attractive at all.  The fringes in your outfit look like those on my kitchen’s curtains and the dress is too long.  With your pretty face and great hairstyle, you can look much better!  Try wearing a fringe style in an off-the-shoulder mini dress in a colour that looks less like ice cream and it would revolutionize your look.

Hot in off-shoulder, zebra dress and high boots
Black, white and striped - hurray! And it’s Oteya!  Even better!  We love this dress. Stripes are currently making it big on the runways of international fashion shows. Whether it is vertical, horizontal, diagonal, pinstripe, dashed; all different versions of stripes are showing up on the runways around the world of fashion. We also feel that this dress looked great on you Oteya. Black and white stripes never seem to go out of style because designers are continually reinventing them.  The boots and off the shoulder styling are certainly sexy.  Great choice!

Not hot in bathrobe outfit
Bobby, this is not the first time you have ended up as a NOT on our pages. We once again have nothing good to say about this outfit. We understand that you might be a great fan of the long jacket trend at this moment, but to go for one that looks almost like a sleeping robe is the wrong way to impress anyone.  The colour works but the thing just looks like what you’d wear after the shower, before you got dressed. The jacket did nothing to make you stand out and the cuffs buttoned at the wrists are a mistake.  The sleeves need to flow away from your hand and not strangle your wrists. We feel that you are too handsome to dress this badly. Please next time impress us – you normally have the natural style sense to do it!

Not hot in over ruffled outfit
Josy Nghipandua, those shoulder pad style winged ruffles on your dress are too much (though we love the necklace). In that outfit, we could hardly see you – and you are so gorgeous normally!  Sadly, the ruffles attracted most of our attention. The top part of your dress is all wrong because it was cut too low (probably to accommodate the large necklace). This shows way too much cleavage. Nobody wants to attend a day event and have your twin girls smiling at them during conversations.  Josy - when you wear such busy things around your pretty face, pull your sexy hair back in a slick updo; the hair, the big necklace and the winged ruffles combined to overwhelm your fashion presentation.
