Businessman Amoni Victor said on Friday that his tax affairs are in order and he has never been subjected to a lifestyle audit by the Ministry of Finance.
Victor denied the story published in the Windhoek Observer that he was among the hundreds of people who are being subjected to a lifestyle audit by the finance ministry.
Finance Minister, Calle Schlettwein, confirmed this week that they have started tracking people they suspect are under valuing their tax obligation or whose lifestyle and properties do not correspond with the tax they declare with the Department of Inland Revenue.
Schlettwein told the Windhoek Observer that his ministry has already sent hundreds of letters under its lifestyle audits, asking individuals to account for their wealth and assets.
The Windhoek Observer regrets any inconvenience caused to Victor.
