The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has identified the Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) as one of Africa’s most inspiring companies in the United Kingdom at the launch of the ‘Companies to Inspire Africa’ which puts forward the most dynamic companies on the African continent.

The award was received on behalf of Meatco by Namibia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Steve Katjiuanjo.

The report identifies Africa’s fastest growing, private companies and profiles them based on their country and industry with the LSEG playing a central role in bringing together ambitious, growing companies from around the world with global-minded investors.

The publication highlighted about 340 top companies across Africa of which 16 are Namibian entities. Companies in Namibia such as Agra Ltd, Lady Pohamba Private Hospital, Meatco, Namibia Construction, Ohorongo Cement, and Safari Hotels, amongst others, made the list.

The companies listed came from 42 countries and operate in seven major sectors: agriculture, consumer services, financial services, industry, renewable energy, technology, telecom and health.

This new LSEG initiative is in addition to others such as the ELITE program and plans are underway for several events in major cities across the continent in the coming weeks with Casablanca set to host one of them on May 9.
