The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) has appointed Steve Bezuidenhout as president, replacing Jeremiah Nambinga who resigned on Thursday.

RDP Secretary General, Mike Kavekotora, announced on Monday that Bezuidenhout, who is also party vice president, will be acting until the elective convention in December.

Nambinga resigned from the former official opposition party, saying it was no longer fulfilling its mandate, which was to vent the “frustration and offer a reasoned critique of policy failures of SWAPO Party in respect of dilapidated and poor health care provision, poverty and corruption engineered by the well-connected”.
