Events: Happy Art Hour
Happy Art Hour is back on 10 February. The National Art Gallery of Namibia pairs the love of art with the love of socialising for N$20, which gets you two free drinks. This time around, see the New Beginnings Exhibition from 17h00 to 19h30.
The Show, covering various live performance genres, such as music, dance and drama, to tell a story, will be staged at Windhoek’s Warehouse Theatre on Friday, 10 February.
It will feature musician Big Ben, actor Ndinomholo, band The Fate of Miss H, artist Blend, First Rain Dance Theatre and Priscilla ‘Namibian Dessert Queen’ with original art.
The show starts at 20h00. Tickets are N$100 from Events Today or at the door.
Old School Hip-Hop Night
DJ Soulfood from Germany and Chopsi’s resident deejay, DJ Musketeer, present an Old School Hip-Hop Night this Saturday, 11 February, with Soul and Funk all played on turntables, with original vinyl records.
Entrance will be free before 21h00 and N$40 thereafter.

Deep House Culture Sessions
Catch Deep House Culture Sessions this Saturday at The Loft at the Warehouse Theatre, hosted by DJ CMBAVILLE and DJ Looney Dee. Entry is free before 19h00, thereafter it will be N$50.
Valentine’s saints and sinners party
Join the Valentine’s Saints and Sinners Party at MoJoe’s Lounge on Saturday, 11 February. The costume party, which calls for you to dress in red, white and black, as a saint or sinner, starts at 19h30 and features DJ Snoop, DJ Pimenta and DJ Stiga, among others.
Valentine’s Dinner at La Brocante
Be romanced this Valentine’s Day at La Brocante. They will be serving a three-course meal, with an array of choices, while you listen to the swooning sounds of Lize Ehlers, live.

On 17 February, T&C Food Services will be hosting a sandwich competition. The cooking and preparation will begin at 07h00, while the tasting and socialising will be from 16h00.
It will be hosted at the Silver Spoon Hospitality Academy.
Writing and performance workshop for poets
Want to take your poetry to the next level? Then make your way down to the Theatre School on Saturday, 18 February, for a full-day writing and performance workshop.
Experienced writers and performers will offer tips and exercises, which you can use to hone your skills.
The morning sessions will focus on creative writing and will take you through ‘loosening up’ exercises and introduce techniques that can help you get past writing blocks and stagnant writing.
The afternoon sessions will help you strengthen and focus your onstage presence and performance and will help you connect to your writing.
The workshop fee is N$100. It will start at 09h00 and end at 17h30, with a break for lunch.
