Events: Night Under The Stars
For a night of music that titillates the senses, catch Night Under The Stars, which takes place on 3 February at the Goethe Institut.
The dynamic trio of Ernest Kondjara (guitar), Jasko Rust (keyboards) and Tapz Tapuwanashe Munya (percussion), collectively known as Solasphera, will be playing experimental and instrumental music that combines African rhythms with Progressive Rock.
Entrance costs N$20 and the show begins at 19:00.
Reggae Music Festival
In celebration of Bob Marley’s birthday, Liquid Events will host a three-day Reggae Music Festival from 3 to 5 February, which counts down to the legend’s birthday on 6 February. One ticket allows you entry on all three days and the after party at Chopsi’s Bar.
Expect performances by Ras Sheehama, Suzy Eises and Big Ben, while Crucial Selekta, DJ Shox, DJ Slim, DJ Pierce and Deck Geeks will be the deejays for the weekend.
General access will cost you N$150, while a ticket for the VIP Lounge is N$300. The event starts at 16:00.
This Friday, 3 February, catch The Cypher, at the night of Hip-Hop, at the Warehouse Theatre from 20:00.
The show will feature prominent Namibian rappers KP Illest, Mappz, Meta, Ray and Skrypt, who will be passing the mic around and showing off their best lines. Harry ‘MC Harry’ Msimuko will act as the MC on the evening, and N$60 will get you in.
8 Bit Adventures
Catch the trio Deck Geeks at the Piccolo Café and Lounge this Saturday, 4 February for their 8 Bit Adventures. The trio will be on the decks from 19:00 until midnight. The music of choice will be Hip-Hop and Alternative. N$50 will get you in, and cocktails will be on special at the bar.

Summer Family Fun Day
Fun Bees is hosting the Summer Family Fun Day on Saturday, at the Jan Wilken Stadium in Walvis Bay.
The event will feature face painting and water slide entertainment for the young ones, as well as food and beverages.
FNCC Art Talk
On 9 February, the Franco-Namibia Cultural Centre (FNCC) and the John Muafangejo Art Centre will host an Art Talk on ‘The problem of curating’, a reflective conversation about the politics of curating art and exhibition-making. The discussion will take place from 18:00 to 20:00 at the FNCC.
Happy Art Hour
Happy Art Hour is back on 10 February. The National Art Gallery of Namibia pairs the love of art with the love of socialising for N$20, which gets you two free drinks. This time around, see the New Beginnings Exhibition from 17:00 to 19:30.
